Spread the love...times three!
For a newcomer into the "public" blogging world, feeling lost and alone is natural. My initial and primary worry was, of course, wondering whether or not people will read what I have to write. I used to have a private blog. With it, readers didn't really matter. It was created to be a private venue for my rants, sentiments...just about anything I have to say about people and happenings around me. I never had to worry about increasing traffic or acquiring a high page rank or getting faved. But with a new aim of making the most out of my blogging, I knew I had to get out of my cocoon, spread my wings, and reach out to the blog citizens of the world.
I started advertising my blog at Cebuano forum Istorya.net, then went on to exchange links with fellow bloggers there. Of course, blog hopping followed suit. It was nice to see people leave comments after my posts or drop a line at the cbox. It was even nicer to see them come regularly! I also joined blogging communities to reach out to more bloggers out there. Online friends are definitely worth collecting, I found out.
Then I chanced upon Pinay Mommy's fantastic site. Apart from my friend B's blog, Pinay Mommy Online was one of the first Filipino mommy blogs I've visited. Naturally, the urge to connect with fellow moms was so intense that I started exploring her site and leaving comments after her posts. I was ecstatic when she responded by hopping by my site as well.
What kept me glued to her blog, apart from the interesting mommy posts, were her exchange links projects. They're wonderful opportunities (not to mention a selfless initiative on Mommy Ruby's part) for attracting traffic to your blog and, at the same time, gaining new friends in the blogging world. For someone who's feeling lost and alone, her exlinks projects are "must-joins" on my list.
The most recent of her many exlinks initiatives is the Pexlinks Triple Love Project. You show love to fellow project participants by doing three things for them - dropping them Entrecard credits, faving them at Technorati, and subscribing to their feeds. Not tall orders at all. Just imagine the many people who will do the same things for you and your blog! It's a win-win effort.
So what are you waiting for? Join us, and share the love...three times over!
